SALEM: Students of Sri Ganesh College of Arts and Science here have undertaken a novel campaign for the World Classical Tamil Conference scheduled in Coimbatore next week.

Students dressed up as Tiruvalluvar, Ilango Adigal, Bharathiyar, Avvaiyar and Kannagi and also as Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi distributed handbills inviting the people for the World Tamil Conference since Friday.

Conference

The conference is to be held in Coimbatore from June 23 to 27 and is expected to be a big draw for Tamil scholars from all over the world as well as Tamil people in the State and elsewhere in the country and the world.

They covered important places in the city where they met the people at their door steps with invitations.

They also explained the need for attending the conference.

The people reciprocated with positive replies to the invitation from the students.

Later the students also organised an exhibition within the college premises on the Tamil meet.
